The Book of Hosea

Chapter 14

1

O Israel, return3 unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen1 by thine iniquity.

2

Take3 with you words, and turn3 to the LORD: say3 unto him, Take away4 all iniquity, and receive3 [us] graciously: so will we render17 the calves of our lips.

3

Asshur shall not save55 us; we will not ride4 upon horses: neither will we say4 any more to the work of our hands, [Ye are] our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.29

4

I will heal4 their backsliding, I will love4 them freely: for mine anger is turned away1 from him.

5

I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow4 as the lily, and cast forth55 his roots as Lebanon.

6

His branches shall spread,4 and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

7

They that dwell6 under his shadow shall return;4 they shall revive17 [as] the corn, and grow4 as the vine: the scent thereof [shall be] as the wine of Lebanon.

8

Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard1 [him], and observed4 him: I [am] like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.8

9

Who [is] wise, and he shall understand4 these [things]? prudent,12 and he shall know4 them? for the ways of the LORD [are] right, and the just shall walk4 in them: but the transgressors6 shall fall11 therein.
